2.1 Local Storage

To improve your experience, we use your browser's local storage (LocalStorage) for:

• Saving your current quiz progress
• Remembering your theme preferences (light or dark mode)
• Keeping results from your previous quizzes

2.2 IP address and abuse prevention

Some features are open without an account. To stop the same person leaving ten reviews on the same test or voting several times on the same dilemma, we process one technical item:

• IP address: used only to recognise a submission already made and block duplicates
• Date of submission: to apply that limit over time

2.3 Data collected via download forms

When you request free content (e-book, guide), we collect the following information with your explicit consent:

• First name: To personalise our communications
• Email address: To send you the requested content and, with your consent, occasional informational communications
• Request subject: To identify the content you requested

2.4 Site audience measurement

To know which pages are read and which are not, we count visits ourselves, without going through an outside service. Each page displayed records three pieces of information, and nothing else:

• The page address: to know which one was viewed, and in which language
• A randomly drawn visit number: to link together the pages of a single visit. It disappears after 30 minutes without a new page and is never reused: if you come back tomorrow you are a new visit, and nothing makes it possible to connect it to the previous one
• The site you came from: its domain name only (a search engine, a social network), never the full address nor the words you typed

3. Cookies, analytics and advertising

Quiz Couple uses Google Analytics 4 to measure the site's audience, and the ad network The Moneytizer to display advertising. The network works with advertising partners listed in our ads.txt file. These services place cookies on your browser.

• Consent is collected by a platform certified under IAB TCF v2.2, which passes your choice, purpose by purpose, to each of the partners. No analytics or advertising cookie is placed before you answer
• If you decline, no browsing data is collected and the ads shown are not personalised. Our own audience measurement, described in section 2.4, keeps working: it uses neither cookies nor personal data
• Analytics data is anonymised and cannot be used to identify you personally
• If you accept, the advertising partners may use your browsing to personalise the ads. You can adjust this at any time from your Google ad settings

You can change your mind at any time using the “Manage cookies” link at the bottom of every page. For more on how Google handles cookies, see Google's privacy policy.

4. Security

We implement the following security measures to protect your browsing:

• HTTPS connection: All communications between your browser and our site are encrypted
• Secure database: Technical data is stored securely with strict access policies
• Data minimization: We only collect data strictly necessary for the service to function
• Secure source code: We follow best practices in secure web development

5. Your Rights

In accordance with the GDPR, you have the following rights:

• Right of access: Obtain confirmation of whether your data is being processed
• Right of rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data
• Right to erasure: Request deletion of your data
• Right to portability: Receive your data in a structured format
• Right to object: Object to the processing of your data
• Right to restriction: Ask that your data no longer be used, without being deleted, while a request is being handled
• Right to withdraw consent: At any time, for processing based on it (emails, relationship assessment), without affecting what was done before
• Right to lodge a complaint: With the CNIL (cnil.fr), the French data protection authority, or the authority of your country, if you believe your rights are not respected

The relationship assessment

The relationship assessment is the only service on the site that saves answers to questions. Here's exactly what is kept, and for how long.

• What is saved: both partners' first names and, if they give it, their gender, the couple's situation (living together, children, etc.) and each person's answers, including on sensitive topics within the meaning of article 9 of the GDPR (sex life, religious beliefs, political opinions). One email address per person, to receive the report and find the assessment again. No account.
• The legal basis: the explicit consent each partner gives for their own answers, by ticking a box before the first question. It can be withdrawn at any time by deleting the assessment.
• Who sees them: the two of you, and nobody else. Your partner sees your answers in the report once you've both finished. The keys to your personal links are only kept as a fingerprint that can't be reversed.
• On your own: if you take the assessment alone, what you think your partner would answer is saved with your answers, under your link only. Your partner isn't contacted or informed, and nothing is shown to them.
• If you're single: the solo assessment first asks where you stand. That answer is only counted anonymously, in the daily figures. If you answer "single", no assessment is created: we save the topics you ticked, the idea you added if you wrote one, the site language and the date. If you give your email address and tick the box, it's used for one thing only: sending you one email on the day the assessment for singles is ready, through one of the two email providers named on this page (Resend or Brevo). It isn't added to any other list. The address is erased 30 days after that email, and at the latest one year after your answer; the answers are erased after one year. To have it erased sooner, write to us from the contact page.
• How long: an unpaid assessment is erased 60 days after the last answer, a paid one six months after payment, together with the PDF report and the email addresses. Either of you can delete it straight away from the report. Only anonymous counters (page visits, assessments created, finished and paid per day) are kept beyond that.
• Payment: it goes through Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., Dublin, Ireland), which processes payment data under its own privacy policy. We never see your card: we keep the payment session number, its amount and the receipt email address, to send you the report and be able to answer a refund request.
• Sending the report: the PDF report is kept in private storage with our host (Supabase). The addresses given receive a personal link to the report through our email provider, Resend (Resend, Inc., United States, European Commission standard contractual clauses): the report itself does not go through Resend and does not stay in inboxes. The link that downloads the PDF is only valid for a few minutes, and the page gives a new one for as long as the assessment exists.
• Emails about the assessment: when the second person has finished answering, the first gets an email saying the report is ready. If the report still hasn't been unlocked the next day, each of you gets a single reminder. If nothing happens for two days while answers are missing, the person who gave their address under the sentence announcing it gets a single message: to pick up their answers, or, if they have finished, to know that the other person hasn't finished yet. Then nothing more. Each of these emails has a link to stop them, and they stop as soon as the report is paid for. They contain nothing of your answers, only how far you have got.
• A fingerprint of the IP address: salted and impossible to reverse, kept with the assessment to limit the number of assessments created per hour from the same connection.

Emails from Quiz Couple

At the end of some tests, we offer to let you leave your email address to see the rest of your results. The e-book form does the same. Here's what happens with it.

• What is saved: your email address, your first name if you give it (we ask for it, without obligation, once your results are unlocked, so our emails can start with your name), the language of the site you were using, the page the address comes from (which test, or the e-book), the date of your consent, and a fingerprint of your IP address (salted, impossible to reverse) to limit abuse. No surname, no test result. These emails are for people aged 15 or over.
• Why: to send you, in your language, tips for your relationship and news from Quiz Couple: new tests, and the relationship assessment with its offers. Your address is never sold or shared with anyone.
• The legal basis: your consent, given by ticking the box. You can withdraw it at any time: every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link, and we stop writing to you.
• How long: as long as you're subscribed, then the address is deleted three years after your last contact with us (the last time you left your address on the site). An unsubscribed or dead address is deleted within three months.
• What you receive: the next day, an email introducing the relationship assessment, then a second one three days later; nothing more of that kind if you start an assessment with the same address. After that, our tips and news from time to time.
• No tracking: we don't follow who opens our emails or who clicks their links. We only keep overall counts, like the number of emails delivered or of unsubscribes. An email that bounces back because the address doesn't exist gets the address deleted.
• Who sends it: our emails go out through Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, Paris, France) from a mail.quiz-couple.com address. Brevo receives your address, your first name and your language for sending, and deletes them once you're no longer subscribed. The list is hosted by Supabase (European Union).

6. Data hosting and processors

The site itself is hosted by GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States). The data you send us is stored in a database managed by Supabase, acting as a processor under the GDPR. This covers the first name and comment you leave in a review, messages sent through the contact form, the email address and first name provided when requesting free content, and the anti-duplicate technical data described in 2.2. Quiz plays are counted in a form that cannot identify you: only the test name and the language are recorded, never your answers. None of these processors is allowed to use this data for its own purposes. Messages sent through the contact form are erased one year after they are sent. A published review stays online as long as the page exists; you can ask for it to be removed at any time.
