What is love compatibility?
Love compatibility is how aligned two partners are on the things that shape a life together: values, life plans, money, lifestyle, communication and intimacy. It is not the same as attraction: you can feel strong chemistry while having very different visions of life.
Two compatible people are not clones: they don't need to share everything, but their fundamentals point in the same direction. That alignment, more than early passion, best predicts how solid a relationship will be over time.
Our love compatibility test measures exactly that alignment: you each answer separately, then we compare your answers to work out your compatibility score.
How does our love compatibility test work?
The test is played as a couple. Each of you answers the same 20 questions, in turn, about the big dimensions of a relationship. There are no right or wrong answers, what matters is answering honestly.
At the end, we compare your answers. Each matching answer reveals a point of alignment. Your compatibility score is the percentage of answers where you're on the same wavelength, with a verdict and things to talk about.
The key dimensions of compatibility
Love compatibility vs chemistry: what's the difference?
Chemistry (attraction) is immediate, physical and emotional, the early spark. Compatibility shows over time, when you have to make decisions, handle everyday life and compromise.
Many strongly attracted couples end up splitting because their fundamentals don't fit. Conversely, solid compatibility helps you weather storms. Ideally you have both, but if you had to bet on the long term, compatibility is the better indicator.
Can you improve your love compatibility?
Partly, yes. Some things are barely negotiable (wanting children or not, for instance), but many differences can be worked on: life pace, money, the way you communicate or handle conflict.
The key isn't to be identical, but to know your differences and talk about them. A mid-range score is not a verdict: it's a map showing where you're aligned and where the conversation deserves to go deeper.
How to read your compatibility score
Your result is a percentage of aligned answers. Here's how to read it:
- 80% and above, soulmates: your fundamentals are very aligned, an ideal base to build on.
- 60 to 79%, great compatibility: you meet on the essentials, with a few enriching differences.
- 40 to 59%, compatibility to nurture: real common ground, but also topics to clarify together.
- Under 40%, different paths: your views diverge on several fundamentals, dialogue will be valuable.
Remember: a test is no substitute for a real conversation. The best use of your score is to talk it through together.
